The long planned ski property in Dubai - luxury slopeside ski chalets at The Kempinski Hotel in the Mall of the Emirates in Dubai are reported to be finally opening this month.
The one, two and three-bedroom chalets all have kitchenettes, en-suite bedrooms and the unique views over the indoor snow slopes of Ski Dubai. The two and three bedroom chalets also have views over to the warm seas of the Gulf and the equally famous Burj Al Arab on the other side.
“It truly is a unique product – you can enjoy both the sun and the snow,” said Doaa Amin, regional director of public relations for the Kempinski, Middle East and Africa.
Rates for the chalets range from Dh2600 ($700 US) to Dh25,000 ($7000 US) per night plus taxes and service charges.
Each unit is designed to convey the feel of a chalet in the Alps, complete with slate elements on the walls and wood floors. An unusual feature for Dubai property are the fireplaces – a rare requirement with temperatures typically around 40 Degrees Celcius. Windows are maximised so guests can see the ski slope – or the outdoors – from their hot tubs.
The chalets have their own private reception area. Guests receive automatic entry to Ski Dubai, use of the hotel's executive lounge and all its facilities, a personal butler, the use of an Audi A8 car for the day, and ski-related amenities.
