Until recently, with few notable exceptions, the best hotels and villas for rent in Liechtenstein (although none of deluxe standard) were in or near Vaduz, but new establishments have now been built along the Rhine Valley and in the mountains. There are 44 hotels and guest houses in Liechtenstein, with approximately 1,300 beds in total. Eight hotels have an indoor swimming pool. In the alpine region, there are around 40 chalets and other self-catering establishments. Around 165 establishments belong to Gastronomie Liechtenstein.

Inns
A Liechtenstein speciality is the mountain inn. All are at least 1,200m (4,000ft) up, but easily accessible by car. They are ideal for those seeking peace and quiet and clean air.

Mountain Huts
There are alpine huts at Gafadura, 1,428m (4,284ft) high, which accommodates 47; Bettlerjoch Pfälzer-Hütte, 2,111m (6,333ft) high, which accommodates 80; and at Triesenberg-Malbun which sleeps 45;

Camping/Caravanning
Campsites exist at Mittagspitze, FL-9495 Triesen and Bendern, FL-9487 Bendern.

Youth Hostels
Liechtenstein's only youth hostel, Youth Hostel Schaan-Vaduz, is between Schaan and Vaduz. It has sleeping accommodation for 110 in a variety of room sizes.
