Following the comprehensive peace accord, New Year 2007 witnessed a positive beginning for villas for rent Nepal tourism with the number of international visitors to Nepal rising significantly, mainly from the Asian countries followed by European countries.
According to a press release issued by Nepal Tourism Board, arrivals from Australia shot up by 118.6% while US arrivals gained 33.6% over the last January's figure received from the immigration office of Tribhuvan International Airport.
Although arrivals from SAARC countries declined by 8.2% including India (-4.8%) huge growths from Japan (41.6%) and South Korea (82.8%) overhauled the entire arrival patterns in January.
Increase in South Korean arrivals is clearly a contribution by the operation of Korean Air since November last year while the increase in Japanese market speaks of growing consumer confidence of travelers towards the destination. On the other hand, the Chinese market came down by 40.2% along with Malaysia (-29.9%), Singapore (-47.3%) and Taiwan (-27.4%). Thailand however increased by 37.8%.
The tourist arrival from European sector went up by 11.2% with increases from key markets like France (13.6%), Germany (23.1%), Italy (33%) and Spain (35.4%). The UK arrivals didn't change much (-0.7%) while Dutch arrivals grew up (14%). Markets to decline from Europe were Austria (-5.6%), Belgium (-4.9%) and Denmark (-5.4%).
In the wake of Visit Pokhara Year 2007, NTB has been organising various press conference and promotional campaigns in international markets to make the programme successful. There is a growing interest among visitors towards Pokhara and Nepal as a safe and peaceful travel destination. The campaign is expected to bring positive changes in visitor's arrival pattern.
