Tourist groups from Nepal attended a recent travel exhibition to promote the country as a safe place to visit and enjoy its spectacular Nepal ski property.
Representatives from both the Nepal Tourism Board (NTB) and the Nepal Association of Travel and Tour Agents showcased the benefits of taking a holiday in the mountainous country at this week's FITUR fair in Madrid.
According to Rising Nepal, staff from a number of tour operators including Explore Himalaya Travel and Adventure were in attendance at the travel expo, which featured a total of 845 exhibitors from across the globe.
The Spanish exhibition presented an opportunity for "the Nepalese travel and trade companies to promote Nepal at the fair as almost everybody visiting knew about the improved political situation in Nepal and the end of Maoist insurgency," commented the NTB.
Stalls promoting the country advertised the tourist board's Naturally Nepal Once is not Enough campaign and provided visitors with brochures, CDs and DVDs demonstrating the advantages of a holiday there.
The NTB states that the promotional campaign is designed to increase tourist revenues in the country as well as rebrand its image as a holiday destination.
