Minister for Culture, Tourism and Civil Aviation, Pradip Kumar Gyawali said today that urged one and all to stop all the activities having adverse impact on the tourism and ski property Nepal industry.
Since tourism is an industry that can prosper only in a peaceful environment, the tourism sector has to contribute towards making this sector free from conflict,? said Gyawali.
Speaking as the chief guest at the TAAN (Trekking Agencies' Association of Nepal) Lhosar Dinner Ball 2007, he called upon all to extend necessary support and cooperation from their respective fields in making new Nepal.
On the occasion of the Me Mo Phaklo 2134 (Lhosar 2007), he extended best wishes to the Sherpa community.
He also asked the people from diverse communities to respect ad recognise others? cultures. 'Nepal is the country of topographical variations with multi-lingual and multi-ethnic communities. The very diversity is attraction among tourists,' he said.
Disclosing the recent decision taken by the Government of Nepal, he said that a public holiday would be given to the concerned communities during their festivals.
He also launched TAAN Member Directory 2007.
Delivering his welcome address, Narendra B.C., the President of TAAN, shed light on the importance of Lhosar festival.
Similarly, Sitaram Sapkota, TAAN's General Secretary, said that the association has been organising the Dinner Ball programme annually over the last several years.
TAAN's executive member and coordinator of the Lhosar Dinner Ball 2007, Lakpa Sherpa extended a vote of thanks to all those contributing to making the event a success.
