A SR2 billion skyscraper is to be built as one of the most sophisticated Saudi Arabia Property. The work is to begin in summer and early reservations amounting to SR300 million have already been received.
The skyscraper will be located on the seaside in the Northern Corniche area. The target date for completion is by end of 2010. Cayan Investment Co. and Zahran Real Estate Investment Co. are handling the project. The project will feature two residential towers, an upmarket mall, luxury spa, offices, indoor squash courts, outdoor tennis courts, swimming pools for adults and children, plus fully-equipped gyms and beauty salons.
The 13-storey commercial development will curve its way between the two residential towers and offer offices in various sizes. All will have access to an executive floor with a selection of meeting and conference rooms, plus covered parking, and a high-tech security system.
Badr Al Zahrani, president of Zahran Real Estate Investment Co., explained at a recent Press briefing that Lamar means melted gold in Arabic, and the reflection of the sun on the building would give a similar visual effect.
He added that the housing towers would consist of 58 and 65 storeys and include apartments of various sizes. The commercial tower, which is situated between the housing towers, will be13 storey high. Ahmad Al Hatti, president of Cayan Investment Co., said that the commercial tower would include a three-floor shopping mall while the other 10 floors would be dedicated for business offices.
The health club project would be one of the biggest in the Middle East and would provide the latest and finest physiotherapy treatment. The construction work has been awarded to the British-based RMJM Architectural Design Company, while management of construction is assigned to the American-based Turner Co. Architectural consultancy has been given to the Saudi-based Al Diyar Al Saudia Architectural Consultancy Co.
Al Hatti said that the project has had more reservations for the residential units than the developers had targeted. He said that most interest has been shown in the duplex and penthouse apartments.
